Located at 190km from Rio de Janeiro, years ago was a small town but nowadays it is quite popular and touristic because of the amazing beaches and nature. Also, it is famous thanks to the French actress Brigitte Bardot who visited the town on the 60´s. (There is also a statue of her at the center)
We arrived at Búzios at 10am. We tried to find a hostel but as it is high season and Carnival is around the corner, the prices are too expensive. We decided to do what we wanted to do from the beggining, sleep on the beach. We spend all day with our backpacks, relaxing on the beach, swiming… On the evening we looked for a good beach to sleep, when we found it we just got everything ready because it was dark. We prepared the tend and started the bbq! We ate the hot dogs and went to sleep after a long day.
Next day, we woke up and we wanted to look for a camping where we could sleep without worrying about our bags. Wojtek went to the only camping in the city to ask the price and to check out the place. Unfurtunatly it was too expensive for us. But, on his way back to the center, he found Claudio a guy who just opened a hostel in Búzios. He told Wojtek that we will have an special price for the night (and it was true! We had a very good price!!) We decided to go there, it was not at the center but it was near to beautiful beaches. We were supposed to spend only one more night but at the end, as always, we stayed for two more nights because we loved it!
In Búzios we visited different beaches, the one in the center (Armaçao), Geribá, Ferradura, Ferradurinha (the favorite one), Canto (where we slept) and Tartaruga.
Geribá was the closest beach to the hostel. It is a big beach, I liked it a lot, but the water was frozen!! Next day we went to Ferradurinha. A small beach, but beautiful, Clear water, no waves, with rocks and a lot of green. There we rent kayaks (R$15 for more than an hour) We even saw a lot of sea turtles, it was amazing!! That same day we went to Ferradura beach, but actually it has nothing very special, I loved the houses there!!!
Four nights in Búzios was not enough for us, we want to go back for at least one more night and visit more beaches.
Now we are back in Paraty for the Carnival we want to leave to the North so we can arrive to the Caribbean easily 🙂
